Kegon Falls

The Kegon waterfall was breathtaking! All of the photos we had seen of it so far had been in the spring/summer time, with blue skies and cherry blossoms. But there was something about it in the snow that made it feel really rustic. It was so cold that icicles were forming at the side of the waterfall and the water looked dangerously cold.

The snow was coming down heavily again and it was getting colder.

We took a few snaps at the top of the waterfall and then took an elevator down to the base. It was amazing looking up from the lower observatory, and you could really feel the might of the water crashing down.

But without a doubt the best part of all was as we were leaving the waterfall. I'd been waiting for this all trip... 3 snow monkeys were chilling at the side of the road! They looked like grey fur balls with little pink faces. Just sitting there opening the nuts that had scrumaged from the forest floor - way cool!
